Val d’Orcia

Where else to start our tour than in the Val d’Orcia. We’ll settle for what is without doubt one of the most photographed villas in Tuscany, Podere Belvedere. If the weather hears our photoprayers, we’ll catch the first sun touching the morning mists. But not just the villa will be in our finder, but the whole fairytale landscape with hundreds of hills and waves and the towering Monte Amiata in the background.

Cypress Grove

Right after breakfast we will make our way to Bagno Vignoni, ancient spa village with a hot water pool in the main square. The evening will be in the spirit of yet another famous Tuscan site - the cypress grove in the middle of the rolling fields.

Capella Vitaleta

We’ll be taking it easy on this breather day. In the morning, we’ll take in some views from and from around Pienza and photograph the stunning Capella Vitaleta, a small church flanked by cypresses crowning the hill, all casting shadows in the light mist.

Crete Senesi

We’ll make it to Siena famous for its medieval brick buildings to keep us busy for most of the day. On the way back, we’ll drive through Crete Senesi - its rolling countryside, traditional farmhouses, cypress trees and wavy fields are the images that actually pop up in your head when you think of Tuscany. A plenty of great pictures guaranteed there.

Cypress Trees Road

Only early birds get to watch the landscape wake up - the sky will turn first colours for us about half an hour before the sunrise, the time when the fog starts to crawl in. We start high above with the main motive - one of the roads with cypress trees leading to the typical Tuscan villa.

Podere Belvedere

Saying our goodbyes to Val d’Orcia, we will return to spend the last morning by Podere Belvedere - this time, however, we’ll photograph from another spot to capture this marvelous scene from a different angle than on the first day. On the way back to Firenze we may make a scenic stop in San Gimignano (depending on the time schedule of our flights, though).

Any Questions First?

Digital camera (i.e. DSLR or mirrorless camera) with wide angle lenses and telephoto lenses - you will need at least 200mm focal length, anything “longer” than that will give you more options and flexibility on the visited locations. Sturdy and stable tripod is a MUST and a remote shutter release for tack sharp pictures. Neutral density and polarizer filters (if you have any) will come in handy, too.
We strongly recommend you pack up some waterproof hiking boots and waterproof clothing with you. Make sure to pack up some warm clothing. It can get real freezing cold, especially in the mornings.
Tuscany consists of simple terrain, easily approachable from the car, typically only a few-hundred-meter walk on a dirt road or a field.
We prioritize the comfort of our guests and therefore all of our tours are designed for single occupancy.
The minimum number of attendees on this photo tour is 4.
The maximum number of attendees is 7 attendees per tour.
In that case, it’s up to us to decide whether we want to organize the photo tour anyways, and we’ll update you shortly. In case we decide to not go through with the tour, we’ll return you the money paid in the tour account asap.

We’re trying hard to deliver you the best experience according to the actual situation. The tour itinerary is only set as the basic outline of the tour - it is not hardwired into the program because it largely depends on the weather conditions. It is in our best interest to try hard and deliver the best experience, in fair and foul weather, according to the situation we are facing.
First, you book the tour via the booking form linked from the detail page of the particular photo tour. As soon as we receive your booking request, we’ll let you know whether your booking was confirmed. And finally, if you made advance payment, you should cover the remaining balance no longer than 30 days before the photo tour starts.
